The Health Related Technology program is a series of planned courses designed for those students whose career objective is one within the technical allied health field. The program is designed to promote careers in health care. Graduates may pursue occupations requiring further training or education.
In addition, the program requires a concentration of planned courses in science and mathematics. Basic health occupation instruction introduces field experience within settings concerned with technical functions to obtain data for use in diagnosis, treatment and control of disease. Instruction will include the use of technical equipment.
The health occupation core instruction
includes planned courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology,
clinical laboratory procedures, basic nursing skills, septic techniques,
and infection control. Science and math taught by certified science
and math teachers is coordinated and deemed essential for the student's
success to reach their career objectives. Clinical Education is an
integral part of the program.
